Stylish Way to Wear a Pleated Maxi Skirt This Fall ☀️

I've Got Sunshine ☀️ | Style and Travel Blogger - Pleated maxi skirt and black turtleneck top for fall

I don’t like saying goodbye to my maxi dresses and skirts when summer is gone! Of course, I may wear them less, but whenever the weather permits it, I’ll go back to my favorite pieces. There’s nothing more feminine and graceful than a flowy dress or skirt, at least in my opinion. And speaking of flowy pieces, I think I found my perfect one for this season! This beautiful pleated maxi skirt makes me feel and look like a (modern) princess… and it comes at a very affordable price too! 🙂

Here’s why you’ll want to own a pleated maxi skirt this season (and beyond, I may add!):

  • it’s a stylish piece that goes beyond the current trends and seasons (I’d gladly wear this skirt in the spring/summer as well)
  • it’s easy to dress up or down – you’ll always look put together regardless of the occasion! Wear it with booties and a moto jacket/faux fur vest or a fancy silky top and heels
  • it really makes you stand out – the flowy silhouette will never go unobserved! You’re almost guaranteed to receive a ton of compliments 😉

This piece is from SheIn and it comes in a few different colors. I chose the army green one because it’s more neutral and also, a color I’ve seen a lot lately. I paired it with another favorite piece this season: a turtleneck top. A simple, black piece can elevate the whole outfit and make your skirt the center of attention.

I find this army green to pair very well with gold, so a few golden accents can complement the color in such a great way! For this, I had my heels, purse, and earrings with some degree of golden accents. I almost tied my hair in a low ponytail for an extra chic look, but I loved how my hair looked too much that day after using my straightening brush – my new obsession! 🙂

Your turn now: how would you style this maxi skirt in the fall?

  1. I am pretty much a maxi dress / jumpsuit girl and given the weather condition in Hong Kong (like I am still wearing vest till today even it’s supposed to be winter), I can wear all these summer pieces all year round ! aahh I love to style it with simple black jumper in winter and vest in summer, and maybe a denim jkt for chilly days!

  2. Hi, Lovely skirt and the overall outfit looks so cassic. Thanks for sharing. I saw this in Shein and am confused on size. Can you guide me on the size please. Is it true to size? I am size 8 UK(waist around 26.5)Will S be fine or should I go for M for a bit of breathing space?

    1. Hi Pallavi, thank you so much! Just to give you an idea, I’m about 26 inches in waist and usually a size 6 UK, and got the S size in this skirt. I’d probably go with M in your case. Hopefully that’s helpful 🙂

      1. Thank you Sabina. I got mine today and they fit well and look pretty as yours. Just need to alter the length. Thanks again for the post which inspired me to get one. Cheers.
